I'm Betty Ferreira FCPA, FCMA

As the founder of Goodcasting and Goodcasting Academy, I bring over 30 years of experience in guiding nonprofits toward financial transformation and sustainability. My work has focused on empowering organizations to achieve their goals through strategic financial planning and innovative solutions.

Drawing on my experience as a former nonprofit CEO and as a Fellow Chartered Professional Accountant (FCPA, FCMA), I have trained hundreds of organizations across Canada. My work includes designing many of the country’s leading nonprofit finance programs, equipping organizations with the tools and strategies needed to achieve financial sustainability.

These include initiatives for CPA Ontario, United Way agencies, and the Ontario Nonprofit Network, all designed to strengthen financial resilience in the nonprofit sector.

My training is highly rated for being impactful and engaging. I avoid accounting jargon, use relatable real-world examples, and make complex concepts easy to understand for nonprofit leaders.

My Story

As a former nonprofit Executive Director, I know exactly how intimidating nonprofit finances can feel. I used to worry that my Treasurer would ask me questions I couldn’t answer or that I was missing something important in the financial statements.

While I could read financial statements, I didn’t fully grasp the power of the Statement of Financial Position or how to create a financial strategy that went beyond fundraising. These challenges left me feeling unsure about how to lead with confidence in the financial side of my role.

Everything changed when I strengthened my nonprofit finance skills and earned my CPA designation, transforming my approach and boosting my confidence in making strategic decisions.

Now, I teach and coach nonprofit leaders to help them build their own confidence in financial leadership. My goal is to ensure that they feel empowered to navigate their finances with clarity and purpose, so they can focus on making a bigger impact.
